The relationship between a painter and his admirer unfolds as an abstract, twist-filled hide-and-seek game against the backdrop of murder and revenge.

Set against the backdrop of bustling New Delhi, the story quietly follows a specific day in the mundane routine-driven life of a young boy called Manu. Manu is a nineteen-year-old, introverted, repressed boy who loves art, and belongs to a middle-class religious family in India. On this particular day, a series of events brings him finally to confront himself, and in the end, leaves him in a dilemma to bring the change in his life or not.

Muthazhagu, a true patriot, had fought against the British, had gone to jail, and is a man much honoured and respected by the villagers. So when he commits an indiscrete act the whole village is shocked. But they forgive him, for it was an act committed under the influence of liquor. The only disgruntled element in this scenario is the village girl's uncle Vellaiyan (Nasser) who would have married her but for this misfortune. The man vows revenge and gets his chance twenty years later . The nephew (Murali) ignorant of his uncle's motives finds out the truth later. His admiration for Muthazhagu, love for the girl, and attachment to his uncle makes him attempt to bring about a re-conciliation between the two warring factions, which were threatening to turn into a fight between the two villages.

The story is based on the life of Pothuluri Veerabrahmam (N. T. Rama Rao), a well-known saint and astrologer of the 17th century. A brief life of Gautama Buddha, Ramanuja, Adi Shankara and Vemana (all essayed by NTR) are shown at the beginning of the film.

SOS Fairy Manu follows the misadventures of Manu, an apprentice fairy godmother who aims to solve the problems of all the inhabitants of the Enchanted Kingdom with her magic umbrella wand. With João, her cowardly friend, and Duke, a frog who believes he's a nobleman, SOS Fairy Manu helps unusual fairy tales characters like a big-footed Cinderella, and a Little Wolf, who suffers badly at the hands of the Three Little Pigs, while having to deal with Witch Valquíria. But Manu's spells do not always go as expected. She often makes things worse by thinking she knows enough to solve everything by herself and has to find a way to get out of the situations she created.
